This one's quite an old fashioned little number. The cake is made with 1/2 pistachio nuts to 1/2 flour, so has a lovely oily nutty taste, and a bit of cardamom and rose water to give it a romantic edge. If you know what I mean...

This Pistachio and Rose Water cake contains:
pistachio nuts
self-raising flour
freerange eggs
cardamom seeds
caster sugar
butter
baking powder
milk
rosewater
double cream
fresh strawberries

If you go for the double cream and strawberry topping, it'll have to be eaten on the same day (shame) as it's made, otherwise the cream will go mouldy.

There are 880 or 560 calories per serving, depending on whether you go for 6 or 8 servings.
